do you think five people could afford a studio apartment in Manhattan?

so im plannning on attending MUD for makeup artist training in Manhattan next September and my friend a culinary school. 3 of my other friends are going straight into the work force. do you think 5 people on minimum wage jobs could afford a studio?? weve seen some that were $3,000 to a little over $4,000/month. we are planning on splitting all the bills. and we wont have a landline, just our own cells.

most of my school expenses are covered so i dont have to worry about that.

we are going to use bean bags and dish chairs that we already own instead of sofas, and buy 1 or 2 cheap bean bag sofas that change into beds. we will just have to buy kitchen utensils and bath stuff.

oh and should we use the subway or the bus?? taxi is definitely out of the question.

NYC has very strict laws on occupancy limits. This is mostly due to fire codes. 5 people can NOT live in a studio apartment legally.
