The drying time of the Renaissance frescoes?

During the Renaissance artists like Michelangelo painted frescoes (paintings done a plasmid wet) How much time is needed for the plaster to dry? It was plastered ceiling or wall before painting or painting? "The reinstatement of the use of water to wet mabye the cast back Please answer as soon as possible

The very fast drying time, usually a number of hours. Painters of the Renaissance in general, using the technique of buon fresco or fresco painting, which consisted of painting on wet plaster - the painting is actually part of the wall, not only in surface thereof. The technique of pigment mixed with water used fresh ("fresh" is Italian for "fresh") plaster. The pigment is absorbed by the wet plaster and the air is dry and the fuse, so to speak. Often look as fresh pastel colors are muted because of this. This technique is "truth" cool. Sometimes artists used "fresco secco" after (cool dry) containing moistened plaster to simulate the effect after wet plaster and painted on it. This technique was used for touch and had the advantage of slower drying. However, the pigments do not become part of the wall, so they have the problem of discard (part of the reason why many frescoes are now in excellent shape and must be restored). Here is an interesting example that shows exactly how many Masaccio took days to paint: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Expulsion_from_the_Garden_of_Eden_ (Masaccio) Look at the various sections of the work, and you will sample contours when the plaster dried and the amount of work the artist did in a day.
