Born June 16, 1935, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jim Dine is an American pop artist. He is often considered a precursor of 'pop art' and is associated sometimes with the 'Neo-Dada "movement. Jim studied at the University of Cincinnati during 1953-1955, while he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Ohio University in 1957.
In 1959, Jim Dine moved to New York, where he collaborated with artists as Allan Kaprow, Claes Oldenburg and Robert Whitman, together with the musician John Cage. This association showed the "happenings" a form of 'Dark performance art. "His exhibition at the Gallery Judson during 1959-1965, he won recognition great Jim Dine at the art world. In 1960, she made her maiden solo exhibition at the Reuben Gallery, New York. To the following year, Jim's solo exhibition was held at the Martha Jackson Gallery in New York. In 1962, Dine's work found a place in the historical exhibition and pioneering, "New Paintings of common objects in the Norton Simon Museum, which is considered the pioneer of 'pop art' in the U.S..
After having spent the 1960s in the production of 'Pop Art with the source objects of everyday life and winning wide acclaim, the artist moved to London in 1967. Jim Dine spent the next four years developing his craft and returned to the U.S. in 1971. In 1977, she made her first solo exhibition in the Pace Gallery, New York. In the 1980s, developed a penchant for sculpture and there was a noticeable change in the subject of his art objects made nature. In 1984, his work, "Jim Dine: Five Themes", was exhibited by the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota and in 1989, "Jim Dine Drawings: 1973-1987 "Was displayed by the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. In 1992, the artist received the Pyramid Atlantic Award of Distinction in Washington, DC In 2004, the Gallery Washington National Art show his drawings in an exhibition titled "Drawings of Jim Dine" and in 2007, participated in the public art exhibition Chicago, "Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet."
On May 16, 2008, Jim Dine inaugurated a bronze statue nine feet high representing the mythological character Pinocchio, entitled "Walking to Boras, perhaps his best work of art. The statue is located in the heart of the city of Boras, Sweden. Jim Dine has more than three thousand paintings, sculptures, three-dimensional works, drawings, prints, along with the performance works, stage designs and of books and music to his credit. He has illustrated several books of poetry, "A well painted Strelizia (1980)," Heart Machine "," gloves white (2007), "Large 4 Wheel Color Parrot Screaming (2007)," and "Conversations Marathon (2007), to name a few.
Their Public libraries are in various museums around the world, including the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art and the Art Institute of Chicago. Broadly speaking, one hundred solo exhibitions decorated career of Jim Dine, such as dell'Areite Galleria, Milan, Italy (1962), the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, Netherlands (1967), The Pace Gallery, Columbus, Ohio (1978), Galerie Beaubourg, Paris, France (1991); Wildenstein, Tokyo, Japan (2001), and Thord Wetterling Gallery, Gothenburg, Sweden (2008).
