The Actors 'Equity Association is an actors union that represents actors who performed in the theater or theatrical performances. The Actors' Equity Association, or equity, in short, was formed in 1913 and is the oldest of all major actors unions like the Screen Actors Guild and AFTRA.
Equity was formed to ensure agents were treated fairly by the producers. Fairness ensures that actors are paid fairly and promptly. Ensures that stakeholders are able to perform their crafts reasonable working conditions. It also handles benefits, wages and other aspects of the careers of the actors.

Actors' Equity Association to help the actors in a number of ways. In particular, equity provides representation and contractual benefits and other services that help actors advance their careers.

• Equity negotiates minimum rates at which its members must be paid for Equity recognized projects.

• Alerting actors to audition for productions that are recognized by Equity

• Seminars on the performance and other issues

How I can enter "Association Actors' Equity?

Actors can join the Actors' Equity Association in a number of different ways. The most common ways of joining the equity are:

• Actors can join the equity simply working in a production or Equity-recognized by a number of weeks. You can determine whether a production is the capital asking the producer or by contacting Equity .
• Equity actors can join if they have been a member of another major actors union, the Screen Actors Guild and the Screen (SAG) or the American Federation of Television Artists and Radio (AFTRA), and acted as the main artist, while being a member of that union.
• Agents can also join the equity in contact with Equity and demonstrating the unity that will be performed in a future production that is affiliated with equity.
