The genre paintings have undergone constant change. Has occurred due to change of style of life of people and acceptance new issues of the paintings of artists. The art of genre painting has evolved through these changes. Has a new job and fresh perspectives over time.

In seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, issues of genre painting ran around the actions of the peasants of joy. These acts were such as dance, performing in festivals and often making the home and professional jobs to win. Most of the subjects explored the sensual experience of ordinary people, particularly acts of pleasure.

As contained in the definition and the concept of defining the scope of genre painting, artists have been kept busy in the picture of reality. These artists, especially the Dutch painters, concerned themselves in painting clothes and daily practices of people living in their immediate environment. However, the art has never been mere statement of what the artists saw. These artists applied their artistic observations and analysis, while the painting of the scenes before their eyes.

With the changing lifestyle of ordinary people, to the bathhouse culture had evolved. These houses were places where families went to the bathroom. They were in flocks, taking friends and children with them. But there were separate baths for men and women. The bath houses for women staff had maids only.

In some genre paintings we can see the house where the bather bathing women are enjoying their bath together with your friends. The artists, Jean-LÃ © on GÃ © rÃ'me, had described the ability of women bathing naked and the cleanliness of their bodies.

How many artists are out there using the rough side of a piece of Masonite for the painting?

My aunt and uncle were prominent artists. Painted most of his paintings on canvas, but sometimes, you'd use the rough side of a piece of Masonite for the painting. I wondered how common this is, or if it is something thought completely on their own and only did so.

I often paint on masonite. I used both sides. I am sure that is quite common, as masonite is a common means to work.
