Hand tattoos?
I have one tattoo, on my ankle. I know getting one on my hand will probably hurt just as much, maybe more (I'm talking about the triangle space between my thumb, index finger, and wrist).
What I'm wondering about is how many artists are willing to do it. I see a lot of older people with hand tattoos, but the place I went said they wouldn't do it, for fear of liability. Do you know if most artists hold this policy now?
Also, the job factor. The one on my ankle is easily hidden, which is good... but I really want one on my hand, so I can see it when I write. I want to be a writer, and I'd like to have something on my hand to inspire me, perhaps a tribute to my father. I don't know about working for a publishing company or an editor, but where I live in Washington state, a lot of working people have visible tattoos.
Is getting a visible tattoo REALLY that bad for getting work? I mean, say you have a degree, which takes precedence, the tattoo or the degree?
hand tattoos are wonderful..i have my wedding ring tattooed on and you cannot tell that it is a tattoo unless are close... however, there are a few difficulties with tattoos on the hand...depending on the location, the skin can be very tough and the ink will bleed out before it heals making it look a little junky...in some cases, you may not even be able to tell that you have been tattooed.. on the underside of my ring tattoo, the ink bled out and its just my regular flesh tone..
and if you are truly worried about your work situation, then i am sure that there is a location on your body that would suit you just as well..be well and namaste
