I need help with an art project (painting decide to repeat)?

I am taking Art as one of my classes this year and we just received our first project of the semester and is a drawing pen and ink wash. We're taking a 15 "x15" sheet of water color and make a copy of the painting of a famous artist on paper, shading point with black ink to create dimension, texture, etc. and watercoloring to our liking. Now that I have given some information basic project, I wondered what the painting would be too difficult and not appropriate for something like this? I have a few Salvador Dalí and MC Escher works mind, but I would like some suggestions from people more experienced in the art world. Thanks, any help is much appreciated

Salvador Dalí and MC Escher are a good choice because the content in black and white and surreal. I also like Alphonse Mucha. Art Nouveau uses beautiful flowing lines that look beautiful in ink and watercolor.
