Vinyl New website focuses on the social elements of reports and Music

Well, we did it. The vinyl revival is in full underway. With many independent artists issue reported back through the format and many mainstream artists following their example, is a great place in music history. Add to this the numerous reissues of classic vinyl LPs and the return is complete.

Along with the revival of vinyl are new sites Internet web that cater to collectors and lovers of music. One of those sites that just launched is www.NYLVI.com, is the social market to support independent artists, houses and record stores and assist in the dissemination of musical innovation to the world community of music lovers and record collectors.

I talked to NYLVI co-founder of Ivar Lien on the goals, ideals and values of this new community, increasing vinyl record:

There are many sites on the Internet vinyl today, going to set yours apart from the others, which make you unique?

"We believe there are two main aspects that differentiate us from other sites. Firstly, We have structured our market to reflect the world of the main scenes of the music. This is what we hope will make it easier for users to discover music more new and local artists will be able to find a wider audience. To make this possible we are cooperating with some of the best bloggers of these scenes, so that all progress in their posts can be read in the pages of our scene. Instead of creating distance and boring editorial recommendations, we think it's much better to give the word local experts, involved in these scenes on a daily basis. "

"A second aspect that we think we got some of the other services is how we emphasize the social aspects of the collection of vinyl. We want to be anything more than a simple market. Through a variety of features that users want to include and allow greater interaction. We want to be a community for music and vinyl enthusiasts, a place to meet, share and exchange knowledge and experiences. "

Obviously, you and your partners believe that vinyl is a good place to get in, but why the interest in vinyl, where do you see the disk vinyl, say in ten years?

"NYLVI is certainly all about vinyl. We love almost everything about the format, but also part of the reason we have started a business focused exclusively about vinyl is that we think is very compatible with the digital future of the music industry. In the coming years we thought vinyl position will grow much stronger. In music and art in general seems like a strong movement away from postmodernism and more about what he called Bourriaud the altermodern, where art becomes a protest and reaction against the standardization and marketing in an increasingly globalized world. "

"Digital music allows quick and easy sharing between people, we love, but also makes music and the songs feel more like a commodity. The revival of vinyl can be seen as a reaction against this, where artists and listeners appreciate the unique qualities of the format vinyl. In vinyl than ten years will remain a niche model, but I hope that a niche larger and more vibrant! "

Is your site 'model' after anyone in particular?

"No, we can not say we model our site after anyone in particular. Of course, we look to other sites For inspiration, however, these sites spread over a wide range. We have tried to take ideas from these sites and turn them into something new with NYLVI. The most important thing for us has been to do our own thing and create something that the music and vinyl lovers are expected to enjoy using. That said, we live in an age where speed change is accelerating, and constantly look forward and further develop and improve to be one of the most complete and fun to buy music on vinyl. "

So this will be a global site, encouraging members from around the world?

"Yes, part of what we found so fascinating with the start of an online marketplace for vinyl was the way that one way would be located at the intersection between the global and local. Here users, artists, labels, record stores and collectors around the world can come together and drawing on the expertise within the local scenes, explore and discover new music, old classics I have been looking for long. "

What NYLVI not to be?

"It represents half of all first vinyl! But NYLVI want to be associated with the same values and ideals as your local independent record store: knowledge, enthusiasm and love for music, support artists and communities music, and contributing to local variations and musical diversity. "

What do you hear, what is your type of music?

"Nearly impossible to answer this. I guess we have a very wide musical taste. We are big fans of garage rock, like the entire line of bands of the '60s as The Sonics, Chocolate Watchband and upwards with the Pandoras, the Lime Spiders, The Fleshtones, The Fuzztones, The Cramps, reigning sound, Swingin Neckbreakers, King Khan & BBQ and The Peyotes and, and, and .... But we're also big fans of Funk and African high life music. I think one of the records have been listening to most this year is to Nigeria 70: Lagos Jump compilation, which is really impressive. And it's a lot of exciting new music coming out of London now, artists Outernational inspired as Roots Manuva and Radioclit have been doing very good music lately. And so many other artists too, from Bo Diddley and Bob Dylan to Momo, Xiu Xiu and OOTORUICHI. It's a long list. "

So if you are a buyer or seller of vinyl records, NYLVI.com brings a fresh new online presence that will contributing the value of vinyl records in the forefront, both musically and socially. After all, this is music and music is a social phenomenon in itself.
