The graphic novel Watchmen a comic should be left

Initiated in 1986, writer Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons made a mystery artist on the basis of Cold War, where the threat of nuclear war is imminent fear. The story explores the possibility that there are superheroes in the 1940s. Thus, in the context of the graphic novel Watchmen, superheroes are roughly classified into two. They are working for the government, put on their suits, while withholding tax by people, or which are prohibited. Most superheroes do not work for the government have decided to embark on other productive activities such as business, leaving combating crime and resistant suit back. Some are still heroes, but are considered fugitives, thanks to the law passed outlawing superheroes.

Creator Alan Moore can not be blamed for wanting their art to remain in the chosen medium was created. Not only because of the enormous differences between a comic book browsing and a movie, but certainly also by the harrowing experience he had with his editor and his work process of converting paper to film. At first, he thought that the separation him in the process of converting their work to a movie would be okay. Moore admits he was wrong about the distance. The last of his work for released as a film is the graphic novel Watchmen.

"The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen," one of the works of Moore, was adapted to film. Took distance, feeling that the time did not see any of the movie and had nothing to do with it, everything will be fine. Was quite surprised when the producer Martin Poll and writer Larry Cohen filed a lawsuit against 20th Century Fox for alleged plagiarism. They claim that the script has not yet been copied. In fact, the two scripts many similarities, but these are elements added to the film and were not in any way found Moore's comic. Due to demand, Alan Moore had to testify in a deposition. The experience, he described, is unique and outrageously painful. As if the misfortune was not enough, Fox settled the case, telling Moore that it was an admission guilt, something he was very sure he is not involved.

When "V for Vendetta" was made into a film, the producer Joel Silver told reporters that fellow producer Larry Wachowski had talked with Alan Moore, and Moore was excited about the project. But according to Moore, flatly refused to be part of anything with the movies, and still was not interested in Hollywood. Alan Moore wanted a retraction and public apology. As he got an apology from Silver, who appears also been deceived by Wachowski, there was never a public retraction. Apart from this, Moore says the comic book was specifically about anarchy and fascism. Nowhere in the film was even seen these two things not mentioned. It is clear that in a comic book adaptation film reinvents Moore's work on something completely different, something that Moore did not create and definitely do not want to be credited with.

The Watchmen graphic novel is being adapted into a film, and is scheduled for 2009. Everyone can understand the reluctance and discontent by Alan Moore. It is bad enough that they are not paid for their work, now named inherently bound to work against what and who is Alan Moore.
