African American Folk Art in Dallas
Located in a beautiful building in ivory, the African American Museum Dallas is a major cultural destination on your vacation in the south-western United States. For over a quarter century, the museum has been one of the minority areas and cultural heritage to visitors and residents and has been a beacon of culture exchange and integration between communities. It began in 1974 as part of Bishop College Special Collection, the Museum has operated independently since 1979.
The importance of the museum in Dallas in many others that represent the culture of African Americans across the U.S. is that it is the only institution of its kind in the southwestern United States dedicated to the preservation and exhibition of African American materials artistic, cultural and historical heritage. It is also one of the largest collections African American folk art in the country.
The main objective behind the creation of the museum was significant dispensing information on the African-American culture to adults and children. The rich heritage of black art and history are found in four vaulted galleries, and is reinforced by a research library. Living African American culture is experienced through entertaining and educational programs presented in the theater, studio arts area and classrooms.
Among the exhibits on permanent display in museums are African American art African American contemporary artists. It argues that African art represents a small but rich collection of African art objects such as masks, sculpture and textiles. It also houses one of the largest collections of African American folk art in the U.S., the collection includes works by Clementine Hunter, David Butler, and George White. An archive section also exhibited in the museum which can be accessed prior authorization is obtained by researchers at the museum. The archives include documents from prominent African American citizens in Dallas and Texas, the records repository for Bishop College; Sepia collection of journals, 1945-1983; photo files of 43,000 images, Freedman Cemetery Collection; files of the Texas Black Women and the Black Political Dallas County Archives.
The museum is located in Fair Park just across the Hall of Music is located near a number of Dallas Hotels. Hotels in Dallas that vary in quality can be found in the area and some guided tours of the museum.

The document assumes that the "the most influential in history of America, "but I'm looking for someone more obscure. In my view, Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King, Jr. was the most influential, but I would write about an artist / musician, if possible ...? Much appreciated answers please! =]
You can write about someone who influenced a great number of people to change something that was happening in America, I'm thinking someone in the line of Joan Baez or Bob Dylan - who influenced the thinking of a generation about war and aggression, through the music of its people have demonstrated with regard to Vietnam, and the prohibition of the atomic bomb, etc., his lyrics were poetic and yet his songs galvanized an entire movement - indeed one could argue that as the pen mightier than the sword - and therefore more influential,
